Poppin’ Prints

When you think of summer, what comes to mind? Beach, barbeque, school-free….and of course COUNTRYFEST! Well folks, thats where I was this past weekend, with probably the rest of you. Even if you don’t enjoy country music all that much, the tailgating is what everyone seems to head to Gillette for. The concert usually takes place at the end of the summer and it is always hot!! You are in the sun for the whole day, with no shade until the sun goes down! You have to dress accordingly. The attire for this festival is standard; cut off jean shorts and a white tank top….SNOOZEFEST is more like it! That uniform is so blah-zay! So this year I spiced it up a bit!

Here I am with my wonderful friend, Krista as we pose for a picture in the beautiful Gillette Stadium parking lot. My hidden gem is a loose fitting tank top with a fabulous print! The top can actually be worn as a mini dress, but I decided to tuck it into some taupe, satin shorts, threw on my Juno sunglasses, and slipped on my Havaianas. (Didn’t know I’d be walking on damn pebbles the whole day!) Krista is also wearing a hidden gem of her own! A long, silver and turquoise pendant necklace, from where else? TJ’s!

This is a racerback silk top with a very thin, silver chain outlining the neckline, sides and pocket of the top. For the fall, I could very much see this top tucked into some jeans, with a cute belt and a boyfriend blazer!

This top reminds me so much of the late, great Alexander McQueen and his S/S 2010 collection. For this collection, he designed many outfits with the same colors and print that my hidden gem sports! I have always admired A. McQ’s work and it was a devastating tragedy when he past away last February. He will always be remembered as an iconic, brilliant designer.

Did you wear any hidden gems to Countryfest? Do you like bold prints? How would you wear them? Let us know! Leave it in the comments!
