Sailor’s Delight

$19.99

Flip flops have been summer’s favorite footwear for years! They are so easy to kick on and off! With New England’s temper-mental forecast, flip flops are not always the right choice. Thats when I discovered boat shoes!

I had seen them many times at Nordstrom, SPERRY, and countless department stores, but was not ready to take the plunge and pay the big bucks. So you can imagine my excitement when I found a similar pair at Marshalls. These were not the only pair either! There were a variety of colors and they even had a pair of boat shoe wedges! So cute!

I slipped them on and loved them! As you can see, they do not need to be tied so they are just as easy to slip on and off as your favorite flip flops! I have worn mine almost everyday since I bought them. They work with almost anything; shorts, capris, rompers, skirts! I am seriously thinking about going back to get another pair!

Our favorite gossip girl and guys are loving the trend too!

Boat shoes have been recently featured in the press too! InStyle and The Today Show both showed the trend!

Baby You’re a Firework!

$11.50

The Fourth of July! The official start of summer! This weekend is filled with hamburgers, the beach, and of course FIREWORKS! Finding the perfect outfit to impress Uncle Sam should be an effortless task. Just think, if you combine any of the American flag colors together and throw on some cute accessories, people will think you had your outfit planned for weeks! I put together three different outfits for three different scenarios that typically occur on this festive weekend!

BBQ WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY: White t-shirt, printed shorts, boat shoes (SPERRY of course!), and some starfish or seashell studs!

DAY AT THE BEACH: Royal blue bikini or red one piece, printed jersey cover-up, metallic flip flops, and aviators.

PAINTING THE TOWN RED, WHITE, AND BLUE: Navy and white off the shoulder shirt, white skinny jeans, and wedges.

Take a look at my USA inspired outfit for this year’s Fourth of July! I picked up this red, white, and blue romper at Forever 21 just a few days ago!

The nautical trend is always in style! Marc Jacobs did this nautical campaign for Spring 2011!

And Tommy Hilfiger loves red, white, blue so much that he decided to make these stylish heels!

If you’re going to a family/new boyfriend’s BBQ, I may steer clear of these USA looks…
